Special thanks to Lisa Krebs and Shannon Clarke from Girls on the Run of Northwest Ohio for joining us last Friday at our weekly meeting!

A few key points Ms. Krebs and Ms. Clarke talked to us about:
🏃🏽‍♀️ Girls on the Run NWO was founded in 2011 and is currently cover long 14 counties: Lucas, Wood, Fulton, Hancock, Erie, Ottawa, Seneca, Defiance, Henry, Huron, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky & Williams. 🏃‍♀️ ROTR is one of the only physical activity-based positive youth development (PA-PYD) programs with compelling evidence that participants learn life skills and then use them in other aspects of their lives. 🏃🏾‍♀️ 50% of the girls ages 10 to 13 experience bullying such as name calling and exclusion at a time when peer relationships become more central to girls' lives.
🏃🏽‍♀️ Girls’ self-confidence begins to drop by age 9.
🏃🏼‍♀️ Physical activity levels decline starting at age 10 and continue to throughout adolescence. **bullet points courtesy of the Girls on the Run Northwest Ohio PowerPoint Presentation provided to the club**

Girls on the Run is working hard to help girls strength life skills and increase physical activities.

The Perrysburg Rotary Club is a proud community partner of Girls on the Run Northwest Ohio and just recently supported the organization with a grant to provide 25 scholarships to participants in Northwest Ohio.
