Our recent clean-up at Orleans Park with the Maumee Rotary Club and Partners for Clean Streams was the perfect way to kick off our Serve-Tember efforts and put Service Above Self into action.

Together, we collected a mountain of debris.... everything from take-out containers, beer cans, bottles, plastic straws, Q-tips, old records, to the all-too-common cigarette butts and endless tangles of discarded fishing line.

The most sobering find came when we discovered a small snake trapped in the line, but thanks to quick teamwork and caring hands, we were able to safely free it and watch it return to its natural habitat.

This project was more than just picking up litter, it was a reminder that every bottle, cigarette butt, and piece of plastic we remove makes a lasting difference for our community and the environment we all share. That’s Rotary in action, and that’s how we Unite for Good.
