Rotarians,
Don’t start your Memorial Day weekend without joining us for lunch first! Tomorrow we are going to be hearing about the Perrysburg Rotary funded Day By Day Reading Program. Rotary's Learning Day by Day is named to honor the late Steve Day of our club and former district governor and his wife, Janet, a retired reading specialist at Frank Elementary.  Steve and Janet chaired the district's literacy program for several years and this important program is a way to honor that legacy and make significant impact on our young people. This school year the program took on a new approach and you won’t believe the passion and expertise that have been a part of this amazing program.

Being a member of Rotary is an honor and we are always looking for quality members to add to our group of leaders. If you know an individual who works or lives in Perrysburg and would be a good addition to the club, consider extending an invitation today to join you for lunch tomorrow. Lunch is on us and the program will be inspiring and reflective of our mission and vision.

Here are the top five things you need to know about Rotary this week:
  1. Tomorrow (5.22) is the prospective member luncheon. Bring a guest! For free!
  2. Next Friday (5.29) our meeting will be held at the Commodore Building. Lunch will be provided and there will be an opportunity to preview the Garage as well as our long-standing tradition to put any available volunteers to work after lunch!
  3. We need your help Monday morning at the Memorial Day Parade. Join us at 9am for the fun. Register HERE.
  4. Guess what? We are $2,000 away from meeting our $15,000 goal of giving to The Rotary Foundation. Clean water in Haiti? You fund that. Response to Nepal? Your money helped that. Improving literacy in Chicago? You made a difference. If you haven’t given your $100 EREY contribution yet or are in a position to make an additional contribution, please bring a check payable to The Rotary Foundation to this week’s meeting.
  5. Charter Night (6.19) invites should have arrived. RSVP to Ashley Lopez
See you at Rotary,

Jon

The club board approved the membership of Jonathan Smith, Chief Operations Officer of Smith Bonds and Surety, with the classification of Insurance – Bonding.  Jon is a Perrysburg resident, involved with his church, and was proposed by Mark Wasylyshyn.  Any member wishing to file an objection must do so in writing no later than May 22 in care of the club secretary.  Barring an objection, the proposed member will be considered elected to membership and will be inducted upon payment of dues and attendance at a new member meeting.
