Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage month began celebrating our rich culture and heritage in 1968 by Congress.  It was expanded to a month in 1988. The celebration begins in mid September, to coincides with national independence day in several Latin American countries: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica which celebrates theirs on September 15th, followed by Mexico on September 16, Chile on September 21.  The U.S Hispanic population reached 62.1  million in 2020, up from 50.7 million in 2010.
