Last week we welcomed Danielle Burkin, President of the Perrysburg Rowing Club.
Ms. Burkin gave us a wonderful overview of the Perrysburg Rowing Club and detailed the the boats or "shells" and how they are configured.
The Perrysburg Rowing Club is a 501c3 founded in 2008 and in the Spring of 2017, rowing became an official Varsity sport at Perrysburg High School.
The dedicated students athletes and their parents work hard to fundraise throughout the season. From Row-a-Thons, to product sales, to Flocking yards with pink flamingos, they are helping to keep their costs low and to maintain their equipment.
Recently, the Perrysburg Rowing Club submitted a grant to the Perrysburg Rotary Club to purchase a new Launch Motor for their club. A Launch is used during practices for the coaches to ride along side the athletes. This allows for the coaches to assist the rowers and provide instructions during training.
The Perrysburg Rotary Club is extremely excited to work with the Perrysburg Rowing Club and we can't wait to see them in action!
